Going In For A Dip

IMAGE CAPTION: The man got up abruptly from his chair and started to run and jump into the pool while he still had a sandal on his right foot. He startled the women on his left side and they looked to see what was happening while the other woman on the right side wasn’t phased by the man’s actions and never looked up to see what was happening. She just continued to read her book without reacting to the man’s action.

Birgit Langmann Did you get the next shot with him running into the pool with one sandal on?? That would have been cool. However, technically speaking, well done. It is a funny story with your comment but without it, it would lose it's meaning. 8.0
John Larson Nice colors and a clean background. I think the full story might have been a few seconds later. Score 7.
Karen Leonard The cut line suggests there was a cute girl in a bikini somewhere on the other side of the pool. Maybe not. 7-8
Alan Thiese Excellent color. Well composed. You captured two interested viewers and a uninterested viewer. Minor point - unless these are swim goggles I doubt that the male is going in for a dip. Score 7.
Alex Lane This fellow just got up from his chair – without an explanation how would the viewer know what was happening? Wait until he is entering the water for that good PJ entry. 6
Subhash Sapru Good image, even without description one can make out the situation. I would have cropped a bit from upper portion as too much of the folded umbrella is distracting
Billy Burke A bit more color and contrast would have made this more interesting - by our caption was good and told the story very well. 7

Al Sauber - Biography
I am a retired NYC Transit Authority Supervisor who originally lived in New York City and moved out into the suburbs of Suffolk County, the town of Selden in September 1975. Married and have three children. Two of them are boys who are married and have two children each. The youngest is a girl and works in the City.

I was always interested in photography but never took it seriously.  Sometime in the eighties my friends joined a photography club in the neighborhood and invited me to join with them. I got to learn a lot while in the photography club. I eventually had to quit  that club because of my work obligations. I joined the PSA sometime in the late eighties and chose to get into a slide PJ study group and have been in it ever since. Since the event of digital photography and the new challenges it offered, I decided now was the time to join a digital PJ study group to learn more about this new form of photography.

Sometime last year I bought a FUJIFILM FinePix S7000 digital camera with lens accessories for telephoto and macro work. It is the top of FUJIFILM FinePix proconsumer line of cameras. Once I get familiar with this one I will be looking forward sometime in the future to purchase a more sophisticated digital camera. Whenever I travel, or go to special events such as sports, festivals, or any activity where PJ is involved I will be there to record it with my trusty camera.
