IMAGE CAPTION: It was interesting to see the zoo keeper feed the seal. The seal knew she had his food.

Birgit Langmann The animals know who feed them!! The photo would have more impact if the seal was doing a trick or learned behavior. It would also be nice to see the trainer's face. However, the interaction between the seal and her is really good. 7.
John Larson A nice record shot leaning toward photojournalism. I adjusted the levels and it definitely improved the image. Score 7.
Karen Leonard Fine photo, but a "pedestrian" point of view. 6
Alan Thiese Very good color. A neat record of a visit to the San Diego Zoo. Score 7.
Alex Lane This Image has all the ingredients to make it a nice Human Interest shot – the ‘action’ of the fish entering the mouth is very good but – I would have liked to see more of the trainers face – here a ‘burst’ could have resulted in a shot like that. Also-the Image seems about ˝ stop over exposed. (9)

Al Sauber - Biography
I am a retired NYC Transit Authority Supervisor who originally lived in New York City and moved out into the suburbs of Suffolk County, the town of Selden in September 1975. Married and have three children. Two of them are boys who are married and have two children each. The youngest is a girl and works in the City.

I was always interested in photography but never took it seriously.  Sometime in the eighties my friends joined a photography club in the neighborhood and invited me to join with them. I got to learn a lot while in the photography club. I eventually had to quit  that club because of my work obligations. I joined the PSA sometime in the late eighties and chose to get into a slide PJ study group and have been in it ever since. Since the event of digital photography and the new challenges it offered, I decided now was the time to join a digital PJ study group to learn more about this new form of photography.

Sometime last year I bought a FUJIFILM FinePix S7000 digital camera with lens accessories for telephoto and macro work. It is the top of FUJIFILM FinePix proconsumer line of cameras. Once I get familiar with this one I will be looking forward sometime in the future to purchase a more sophisticated digital camera. Whenever I travel, or go to special events such as sports, festivals, or any activity where PJ is involved I will be there to record it with my trusty camera.
